Standish Speakers Club was formed in October 2005 and by December 2006 it had gained enough members to officially join the Association of Speakers Clubs (A.S.C.).

What kind of people are we?
Fact 1We range greatly in age from the fairly young to the fairly old.
Fact 2We do all kinds of jobs - or we are retired.
Fact 3We have one thing in common - we want to speak confidently.

What is the aim of Standish Speakers Club?
Aim 1To provide a friendly and supportive setting for people who want to learn to speak in public.
Aim 2To increase the self confidence of its members.
Aim 3To educate and entertain its members whilst remaining a not-for-profit organisation.

What Standish Speakers Club is NOT.
Point 1We are NOT a group of experienced Speakers who meet to see who has made the most money out of After Dinner Speaking.
